Is 46 degree weather too warm to serve cholent with Shabbat lunch?

No. Any temperature under 70 is perfectly fine for that kind of meal. Hm. Maybe 60. 46 is plenty cold enough.

I think the cutoff for cholent is somewhere around 80 degrees, myself.

Folks in my native Houston would serve cholent year-round; it wasn't unheard of to have it in 90-degree weather. Ridiculous to me when the idea of "hot meal" is a punishment rather than a treat, but it's amazing how much Southern folks hold on to traditions that only make sense in a less temperate climate.
