Pondering Menu-Like Thing

Nov 19, 2007 10:13

So, mabfan and I are going to osewalrus's parents' place for Thanksgiving, but I'm randomly in the mood to cook Thanksgiving-appropriate food. So, I figured, why not do so for Shabbat dinner. Here's the menu I'm thinking of right now:

-- Turkey
-- Herbed stuffing I made in 2004
-- Mashed potatoes? Sweet potatoes? Both?
-- Ginger and garlic broccoli-- Pumpkin ( Read more... )

I've got a great cranberry chutney recipe I'm very strongly pondering making.

I'd make a fresh batch just like the one you made in 2004 --- the three-year-old stuff is probably stale by now. :-P

Feel free to swing by before or after your other Thanksgiving meal to say "hi" if you'd like; we'll be home.

I'd make garlic mashed potatoes (in fact, that is one of the things I'm making).

Garlic (and onions) in my mashed potatoes is basically a standard thing for me.

Try a little rosemary in the mashed potatoes, too--always a hit when I bring those over to friends' places.

I'm also a fan of sweet potatoes, but if you've got mashed...hey, why not make the sweet potato into your dessert?

Oh, yum. Good idea on the rosemary.

And maybe I'll make the sweet potato fries that xavcat suggested way back in 2004.

damn! people beat me to it. Any chance you'd like someone to taste what you're cooking for quality control purposes? This is me being selfless again :)
