Chapter Three
Never Trust a Model

. . . .

“Serena come on, weve gotta go!”, Nate yelled looking at his watch. She’d been in there for an hour now, what else could she possibly be doing?

“Im almost ready!”,  she shouted from the bathroom. Almost? He’d never met a woman who took so long to get ready, they were only going to support Eleanor for crying out loud.

“Well hurry up, otherwise were gonna be late”, Nate muttered outside the bathroom door. Walking down the stairs, he began pacing the Waldorf’s place, he always found it a little weird him and Serena were crashing here. It was nice of Blair to let them stay, but the things they’d done… in his Blair’s bed, it was just kind of…wrong, but it never seemed to bother Serena so who was he to complain.

“Ok Im ready”, Serena said making her way down the stairs. “How do I look?”, she asked before twirling round.

“You look beautiful, you always do”, Nate said kissing his girlfriend swiftly. “Can we go now?”

Linking arms, the two made their way to the elevator. After instructing the elevator to take them to the bottom floor, Nate leant against one of the walls.

“I wonder if Chuck and Blair will be there, Chuck’s been going through so much lately with Jack, he’s pushing Blair away and…”

Nate immediately shut off his brain whenever Serena began talking about Chuck and Blair, sure they were his friends and he cared about them, he hated it when Chuck was in trouble, but lately it seemed like they were the only subject Serena talked about, it was beginning to grind on Nate’s patience. The truth was, him and Serena had been together a little over a month now and their sexlife was good, great infact, Serena was everything Nate thought she would be in the bedroom, she knew exactly what she was doing - it was kind of nice that he didn’t have to take the lead all the time, but when it came to a conversation, the couple struggled. Their views on things couldn’t be more different, it often caused pointless arguments between the two, Nate was pretty much in the ‘doghouse’, through out most of their relationship so far.

. . . .

Making her way into the venue, a huge smile formed on Jenny’s face. Seeing the Runway all set up, the strobe lights, all the people anxiously waiting to see the show and all the Models running around frantically… she’d missed this, more than she’d realised.

“Jenny!”

Turning around, she saw Agnes walking up to her, a huge smile plastered on her face. “You came!”

“Yeah I did”, Jenny replied smiling at her friend.

“Well Im glad, come on we better get backstage”. Taking Jenny’s hand, she led her to the stage and through the curtain. Where Jenny was immediately surrounded by models, all rushing to get on their outfits, she loved this, seeing everyone so frantic, so passionate about putting on the perfect show, the chaos never seemed to bother Jenny, she always did well under pressure.

“Jenny Humphrey?”.

Jenny tucked her hair behind her ear nervously. “Eleanor, Hi.”

“Would you mind telling me what your doing back here? The last time I checked you don’t work for me anymore.”

“Yeah I know, Agnes invited me back here.” Jenny studied Eleanor’s face, she didn’t look impressed. “Look, Im sorry I shouldn’t have never come back here…”

“No no, now that you’re here I suppose you could be of some help to me.” Eleanor studied Jenny’s attire. “Take off your coat, and come help me over here.”

Jenny nodded her head, throwing her coat onto one of the chair’s quickly. Running up to Eleanor, Jenny studied one of the models.

“Now what do you think, with the jacket or without? I want your honest opinion here Jenny.”

“Oh without.”

“Really?”, Eleanor asked looking at the 16 year old.

“Yeah, I mean the dress alone is already eye catching the design is very bold, with the jacket it would just be too busy, people wouldn’t know where to look.”

“Well you heard the girl”, Eleanor said to her newest intern, causing her to remove the jacket from the model nervously.

Jenny couldn’t help but smile a little bit, she remembered when she used to be that nervous, when she used to cower under Eleanor, how things had changed in a year.

“Now Amelia, I want you to stick to Jenny’s side.” Eleanor looked over at Jenny. “You could learn a lot from her.” She muttered whilst walking past the two girls.

Smiling Jenny looked down at Amelia. “Alright follow me, we better make sure all the models are ready.”

Walking through the crowded room, she felt the young intern’s eyes on here, as she ruffled up the girls dresses and added the correct accessorises to their outfits. “Are you taking note?”

“Uh huh.” The girl nodded, it was like she was hanging on her every word, Jenny felt like she was back at Constance with her minions.

Noticing the girls admiration. Jenny walked over to her. “Are you ok?”

“Yeah I am”, Amelia quickly replied. “It’s just, your Jenny Humphrey. Im a huge fan of yours.”

Jenny laughed. “You are?!”

“Yeah, I mean you’re the Queen of Constance, all the girls fear you and the way you stood up to Eleanor, and threw that Gorilla Fashion show last year it was amazing, I read all about it on Gossip Girl.”

“Thank you, although I wouldn’t recommend you doing it. I got in major trouble with my Dad.”

“Oh no, I wouldn’t. I don’t have the guts, besides my talent is no where as good as yours! I just wish I could be more like you, putting on a fashion show just out of the blue, and then kissing Nate Archibald... Im officially crushing on your life.”

Jenny frowned. “Thanks I guess, but my life isn’t as good as it sounds right now.”

“Oh why not?”, Amelia asked.

Jenny swallowed deeply. “Lets just concentrate on the show Ok?”. Jenny defiantly wasn’t going to dig into her past right now, especially with a girl who thought so highly of her, she didn’t want to crush the illusion she’d built up.

“Alright girls, it’s time!”, One of the girls backstage shouted.

“What do I do?!”, Amelia asked looking around frantically.

“Firstly just breathe. And make sure you get all the girls in a straight line, they’ll do the rest.”

“Thank you Jenny”, Amelia replied hugging her quickly.

“Oh, no problem. Now go, quick!”. Jenny smiled as she watched Amelia do all the things, Jenny had instructed her to do.

“Looks like you’ve made a new friend.” Agnes said, getting in line.

“Yeah, I guess. She’s a sweet girl.”

“She’s a dork.” Agnes muttered, straightening down her dress.

“Here put this hat on”, Jenny said changing the subject from Amelia. “Good luck out there.”

“Please, like I need luck.” Agnes replied, putting on the small black hat.

The two laughed as Jenny watched her walk through the curtain, peaking throw one of the other curtains, Jenny couldn’t help but smile broadly as she heard the music blaring out, and saw the camera’s flashing. She’d never felt more at home. Sighing to herself, Jenny admired the clothes, she stood there for the whole hour. Not moving, barely breathing or blinking, she was so fixated on the show. It was perfect.

Finally watching as the show came to an end, Jenny smiled, making her way from the curtain she watched as the girls celebrated backstage.

“That was amazing!”, Amelia shouted looking at Jenny causing her to laugh.

“Was that your first show?”, Jenny asked.

“Yeah, I mean Ive been to a couple small ones but this is the first major one Eleanor’s let me help out at.”

“Well congratulations, Im not Eleanor, but I think you did an awesome job.”

“Thanks for your help Jenny.”

“Anytime”, Jenny replied smiling at the young intern, watching as she walked over to Eleanor. Jenny made her way over to Agnes. “Congrats, it was a great show.” Jenny said to the brunette.

“Yeah it was, here come celebrate with us.” Agnes replied holding out a glass of champagne.

Jenny reluctantly took the glass from her. She wasn’t exactly that interested in drinking these days, she’d been reckless enough lately, but the show was a success so why not? Necking back her drink, Jenny saw a smirk form on Agnes’ face. Before looking over the two girls who had just made their way backstage, Agnes nodded.

“Come on, Ive got something to show you.” Grabbing the glass from Jenny she put it on one of the dressing tables before grabbing her arm and pulling her through the curtains and back out into the crowd of people, who were still admiring the fashion.

“Agnes, where are we going?”, Jenny asked starting to feel light headed. That champagne had gone right to her head.

“You’ll see”, suddenly getting distracted by one of the guys there, Agnes let go of Jenny’s arm and began talking to him. Leaving Jenny stood in the middle of the room.

“Jenny?”.

Looking up she saw Nate, walking towards her. “Oh, hey Nate.”

“Hey”, he replied smiling at her. “That was a great show, was that Agnes I saw up there?”

“Yeah, Eleanor rehired her.”

“Oh.”

Jenny’s head began spinning, her stomach churning she could barely make out Nate’s face. “Jenny, are you ok?”, Nate asked putting a hand on her arm.

“Im fine, I just need to sit down”, Jenny muttered looking down.

“Ok, come on.”

“No, no, I got her”, Agnes said pushing past Nate.

“Agnes, I really think she needs to sit down she’s not looking too good.”

“Oh that’s sweet, you still trying to get in her pants?”, Agnes replied pushing past Nate with Jenny following her.

Nate frowned, what the hell was her problem? Turning to follow them he felt Serena, grab his arm.

“Nate come on, Jack’s here.” Torn between running after Jenny and following Serena, Nate decided to go with his girlfriend.

He was sure Jenny would be fine, Agnes was her friend after all.

“Agnes, Im not… feeling, I need to sit down.” Jenny stuttered, as they made their way outside. The fresh air hit Jenny’s head, making her feel even more light headed. The air was almost choking her.

Leading Jenny across the road, Agnes stopped in front of a guy that looked strangely familiar.

“Jenny, you remember Damien right?”

“Damien? Why is he…”, Jenny collapsed causing two of the girls to hold her up.

“What the hells wrong with her?”, Damien asked looking at Agnes.

“I roofied her”, Agnes laughed looking at Jenny, a disgusted look now forming on her face.

Damien nodded, smiling to himself. “Jenny you got my pills?”

“Your pills? Why would I…”

“Jenny you said you had my pills”, Damien said looking at Jenny.

“Actually, she flushed them down the toilet a couple days ago.” Agnes replied scanning Damien up and down.

“You did what?!”, Damien yelled.

“Yeah sorry, it was me that text you earlier.” Agnes replied, smiling at him.

“Well then, do you mind telling me why I wasted my time tonight?”

“See, I was thinking.” Since Little J here flushed away something that was valuable to you… maybe you should take something that’s valuable to her…”, Agnes looked at Jenny, raising her eyebrows before smirking at Damien, who shared the same dark expression as she did.

“That does sound like an intriguing idea.” Damien looked at the four girls, before focusing his attention on Jenny. “Give her to me.”

Pushing Jenny into his arms, Jenny tried to push herself away from him, but her head felt like it would explode if she tried to move anymore.

“Taxi!”, Agnes yelled.

Damien laughed. “That wont be necessary, I have a car.”

“No…”, Jenny shouted trying to get away from him. “Let go!”

“Would you calm down, otherwise I might loose my patience!”, Damien yelled opening the car door.

Agnes chuckled to herself looking at the other girls. “Come on, Im bored now.” Agnes turned to face Damien. “Make sure you show her a good time.”

. . . .

Nate couldn’t get his mind off Jenny. He tried shifting his attention to Jack and Chuck’s problems but he couldn’t, she didn’t look right. Her legs were wobbling, she could barely get out her words. Sighing, Nate saw Agnes and her friends return to venue… without Jenny.

“I’ll be right back”, Nate said looking at Serena.

“Where are you going?!”, Serena yelled after him.

Grabbing Agnes’ arm he pulled her away from her friends, slamming her up against one of the walls.

“Where’s Jenny?!”, Nate asked trying to make eye contact with the skinny brunette.

“I don’t know what your talking about…”.

“WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH HER?!”, Nate yelled tightening his grip on her arms.

“Don’t worry, she’s having a good time”, Agnes laughed.

Nate sighed frustrated by her lack of cooperation, noticing she was clutching a bag of coke, Nate scanned the room looking for a security guard.

“Excuse me, Sir!”, Nate yelled getting the guards attention. “This girl just tried to sell me drugs.”

“What? He’s lying!”, Agnes yelled as the guard took her arm.

Nate ran out of the venue, scanning the streets. Noticing a familiar guy getting into a black limo, Nate arched his brows. “Damien?”, Nate said to himself.

“Hey Damien!”, Nate yelled causing him to look up at Nate. A smirk formed on his face as he grabbed Jenny’s hair and pulled her up, in full view of Nate.

“JENNY!”, Nate shouted running across the road.

Throwing Jenny into the car, Damien quickly got in after her locking the doors. “Drive.” Damien instructed his driver.

Nate pulled on the door handle’s frantically, before watching the car drive away. Running his hands through his hair, he didn’t know what to do. Pulling out his cell phone, he contemplated calling the cops, but then he wouldn’t know where to instruct them to go, Dan, he could call Dan, the chances were if they worked together they could find her quicker.

He needed to find her before anything happened, he didnt care who helped him, or how long it took, he needed to get to her, if Damien laid one hand on her, Nate wasn’t sure what he’d  do, or the extents he’d go to defend her honour. But one thing was for sure, tonight he was ready to beat the shit out of Damien.
