[His hands are shaking when he gains consciousness again, he can't keep himself awake. He keeps trying to check Attika's body for vital signs, but he can't remember if he feels them before he slips out of consciousness over and over. His body is trying to shut down, restart, bring him back to speed after the misfire, but he can't let himself do it ( Read more... )

[Hanna has been missing for several hours now, and while that really isn't something to fret about -he can take care of himself- he'd said he'd be back soon.

So {...} strikes out to see if he can locate his errant partner.

It takes quite a bit of investigative work, but finally he comes across the exact scene he hadn't wanted to find, and the final few meters between he, Hanna and the woman crumpled on the ground are closed with long, hurried strides.]

Hanna. What happened?

[He draws a shuddering breath as though he suddenly remembered to breathe, his hands, slick with his own blood, lose their grip on Attika's wrist. He tries with a few sluggish movements to grasp it again before it falls, but--

Hanna doesn't want to look at his partner.]

I don't... I fucked up. I seriously, totally, completely fucked up.

[He surveys the situation and takes a knee beside Hanna, reaching for the neck of the woman.

...no pulse. She's definitely dead.

With little else that he can do, {...} shrugs out of his coat and lays it over her before turning to Hanna. There's blood on the floor -he's almost kneeling in it- and it couldn't have come from the woman. Which meant that Hanna was in poor condition indeed and needed medical attention.

Damn Worth for not being around.

He puts an arm around Hanna's shoulders, and takes his elbow in hand to try and gently goad him to his feet. He can carry him easily enough, but hopefully he can snap Hanna out of this stupor first.]

Hanna, you need to lie down. Come on.

[Hanna balks for a moment when his partner covers her. The small sound that escapes Hanna's mouth is something of a whimper or a whine, devoid of pitch, quiet and weak and entirely helpless. The tug at his elbow is almost unnoticed-- Hanna unfolds like a marionette being pulled out of a trunk. He's got no control over any of his figurative strings and hangs heavily in {...}'s grip. On his forearm is the rune he'd written as an attempt at amplifying his attack against Attika, one of three vertical lines defiantly squiggles away from the rest, sketched out to be longer than the others on accident.

As fogged up as his mind is, he hasn't realized quite that Worth not being around would seriously compound problems. He shouldn't still be this weak after something like that, that really wasn't that bad, it'd happened before after casting plenty of times, especially when he was still learning, and he'd gone on to basically run a marathon up stairs and things of the like ( ... )
