This is very pretty, and pretty disgusting at the same time, heh ;D I love the process photos, with your little still life and the sketch. You are so good at finding these on-the-side things to illustrate! ♥

Ew! Which is good, because you convey the wriggle. Which is ew! Hahaha!
I do like the ribbon, the tissue paper and their shadows. Oh! and the damp stain on the box. ampersandheartssemicolon

Aitchayeayeayeaye :)

I was just on my way here to elaborate on the comment from earlier 'cos I got words now, innit.

Imagine the twisting and writhing and oozing. *cough*

Arty: I love the definite three-dimentionality going on here... those ribbons define the space well - the way you've done the shadows really works - real without being photorealistic :). I am most enamoured by the false sense of security one is lulled into by the muted tones. Then you get maggotted! It's great. I can also hear the tissue paper crickling quietly as the maggots move... :D

I really really love it when you arttalk with me. Art thrill! This is one of those drawings that, the longer it took me to finish it, the less I liked it, until finally I just sort of petered out and cried uncle. I hate it when that happens. About the shadows being in the foreground: I get the feeling that one is not "supposed" to have the light source coming from the rear. I just happened to position my box that way, so that's how I drew it, but I feel vaguely unsettled.

This was one of my favorite scenes in the book (*points to icon*). I love the maggots themselves- you can almost see them writhing- but my favorite part of your picture is the moldy-looking box. Perfect!

Hahahaha, no way. Your icon is killing me. Maggoty love!

Thanks, "ominous seepage" was the look I was going for.

I love your work-in-progress photos. Rice! I'll try not to think of maggots next time I have a curry.

The shadows are beautiful. As always, I am amazed by your sideways viewpoint on things. What a delicate study of a icky subject.

Thank you, thank you!

I'll try not to think of maggots next time I have a curry. Hey, what's a little extra protein?

I love that ribbon and while I know you were going for gross I am distracted by the lovely colors.

Nice to see you posting. : )
