:D!

Is the ink one you mentioned? I LIKE. The high-contrast is very fitting with the chess set! Are they playing (or taking turns at) Patience? Hee :D
I love the rook's bowed head. It screams concentration.

Do pawns not have boobs then? ♥

I confess I saw that elbow as a boob at first... that's probably because I'm a perv, and also because your pawn (my brain keeps wanting to type p0rn) reminds me of the Venus of Willendorf...

Haha, it DOES. That's all I can think of, now. :D Was it you that I was talking about "How Art Made the World" with? It was a series of tv programs that came on a few months ago, about the role art played in the evolution of human cultures, and the role our biological evolution played in the development of art. One of the episodes was about our attraction to the exaggeration (or diminishment) of certain characteristics, like in that venus and others like her. Er, sorry if I'm repeating myself.

Oops, sorry, heeheehee. I saw that, yes! I don't think we've talked about it, though. Was that the first one, which suggested cave paintings to be depictions of light deprivation-induced hallucinations experienced in very deep caves? It was really good, that. I have a feeling that the later programmes weren't as good, or I didn't see them, as I'm a bit fuzzy on what they were about...

The exaggeration on those 'venus' figures is interesting... all the essential "female characteristic' signifiers are there (but not head so much, or arms or feet, perhaps because both sexes have those). They seem to be more of a sign for 'woman' rather than a depiction of a particular one.

Heh. That's a fun one--the chess pieces playing cards. Exploding snap?

Thank you! I was thinking Solitaire, but hee! I can't believe I didn't even think of Exploding Snap. I might like that better!

OMG this is amazing. Everything you do is amazing. You have the most wonderful, awesome imagination.

Something about the way that rook's "head" is tipped over just totally makes the picture for me. You can almost hear it sighing. :)

I saw it as an elbow, too.

There's also something inherently comical about a game...playing another game. Agh, double mirrors to infinity!

Once again: genius.

Eep! *flails* Thank you!

double mirrors to infinity!

Yes! That concept captivates me. The one that's been on my mind lately is a cake sculpted and decorated to look like a giant slice of cake. I don't know what the word for that is. Reflexivity? Meta? I actually have "recursion" in my interests list, but I'm not sure that's right. I hope it doesn't have some obscure, sinister meaning I'm not aware of...

I'm imagining the image on the tiny cards is chess pieces. Playing cards. :D

Black and white works well for this. And the conceit of chess pieces playing card solitaire is too funny.

Thanks! That idea killed me; I'm glad other people find it funny. :D
