So you won the argument, then? :D It's so very interesting to see how you work, and you got artpad to work, you jammy bugger... lovely rich shadows. Delicious ;P X

Gnat: 1, Artpad: 0! I don't know why it decided to work for me; I didn't threaten it or anything. Much. Thank ya. :D

I can't believe you did this with artpad. Between this and that amazing Snape one someone did a while back I think I'm learning something - you artists don't just sit and doodle, do you? You plan it all out first and build it up bit by bit, right? This is what's wonderful about artpad - being able to watch HOW you do it.

I remember that Snape, with the exposed throat! That was incredible.

Thanks. Well, I don't know how one is "supposed" to do it, but I've found that for me, I'm more successful when I have an idea of what the finished piece will look like. For this particular thing, I spent a couple minutes sketching the majaor shapes, and the direction of the light. I wish I'd saved the url for that sketch, but I didn't, oops.

You always choose the most interesting details to illustrate, and it came out a lot less scribbly than most artpads I've seen. I like the way you get such rich textures of color, too.

Thanks so much. I think I've already said, but yeah, whenever a description in the books captures my fancy, I make a note of it, so I have a big list of weird wizarding stuff to draw, now.

Ha! Weird ....I was just reading this part last night.
Whenever I read unique descriptions like this I always think of your art.
No one else seems to bother.

Lovely colours here! I see you had to resort to the "short, straight lines" to get some semblage of control - I had to do teh same, because of the time lapse adn resulting stutter :/ My last, very time consuming, Artpad drawing was eaten by Artpad, and I kind of lost interest after that ;)

Thanks! Agh, the stutter, it was awful, yes. The more complex the drawing became, the worse the stutter got. I don't know why artpad decided to spare this one, when it's eaten so many innocent drawings before. :( I was very lucky, I think.
