My Ten Favorite Movies of 2008

So I found 2008 to be a fairly weak year movie-wise. There were movies with a lot of promise that merely turned out to be good, but not great at their best, or outright "Meh" inducing at their worst. I know you're as anxious as an expectant father with the clap to hear my list of movies, so I won't waste anymore words here ( Read more... )

LOL

A few thoughts.

I think people have the Phantom Menace syndrome in that they haven't seen anything new in a series for so long and just say it's good just because. That movie was terrible and Raiders is really the only good Indy movie I think. The one with Connery was okay and TOD is almost unwatchable but KOTCS was below that one.

Doomsday is one of my favorite movies now. It's like if George Miller and John Carpenter were mashed together and made a movie. Good stuff.

Quantum of Solace was bad ass.

The Dark Knight ruled 08. I can't wait to see what they do next. I am in love with the Philip Seymour Hoffman doing the Penguin idea. I think he can bring it. Either that or bring back Ra's.

No love for the Hulk?

I actually thought that british actor who turns into a rat in the Harry Potter movies who make a good penguin. I actually hope they bring in Talia Al Ghul, which could give the series an inter-connectedness. Harvey Bullock would be good too, since he's a cop who hates Batman, and would have no problem hunting him down after the events of the Dark Knight.

the Incredible Hulk was okay. Edward Norton was kinda rubbish in it though, and the Abomination design was dumb.
