Why would anyone by livejournal if they've never used it? It make sense to upgrade, but if you don't already have that experience, why not just go somewhere free, like blogspot.
Has anybody really thought this "protest" through? Effectively, it would be saving them money, and not costing them anything (posting and commenting have no effect on their profits). And I doubt they'd even notice just one day of inactivity on the part of a segment of the population (there's no way ALL of LJ will "strike"). It seems kind of lame and ineffective.
Again, I was just passing this along. I'm curious to see how this plays out. How much of the LJ community will actually "strike." Me? I personally don't care.
The ones who do are mostly emo teenagers who angstely feel they're owed ad-free unpriced blogging online.
