They changed the law last year. I barely even saw it mentioned on the news. The Matthew Shepherd case went all the way to the Supreme Court and was deemed "not a hate crime because hate crimes are based on race, not sexual preference which is optional."

I completely agree with you.

That's one of the reasons why there should be an age limit on Supreme Court Judges (or at least competency hearings once every 3 years or something) instead of the "for life" setup like they have now.
