“I dreamed I was a butterfly, flitting around in the sky; then I awoke. Now I wonder: Am I a man who dreamt of being a butterfly, or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man?” - Chuang Tzu

Of course. You have better ways to waste your time, huh?
Sure thing. I'm sorry about dragging Roxas into that, but I'm glad he brought Eva over. Seriously, I owe him one. If he needs a favor from me, just let me know, all right?
Neither ... or both. I don't really know who I am anymore. But that's okay. One day, I'll figure out who I really am, but right now, I'm not going to worry about it.
The two needn't be mutually exclusive. If there's anything you learn from these experiences, I hope it will be to see things in a different way. Objects, beings, time... they can exist in many states at once. There is no either/or for you anymore, Jordan. Perhaps, in time, I'll be able to teach you how to exist in many streams at once...
I've never dreamt. Q don't need to sleep - neither do you, anymore. We do rest, but not in any human way.
Yeah, you're right. Still, I don't like to think too deeply into those matters if I can help it. But I think I'm finally becoming used to the idea of being Avatar.
What's it like to dream? Well, I guess it depends on the kind of dream you have. sometimes they can be very pleasant, and sometimes very scary. You can do things you normally can't do in real life (though being a deity kinda changes things) and experience time in a different way. An entire lifetime's worth of experiences can be replayed in a single night. Some people say that dreams are just a meaningless aggregation of the day's events, the brain's way of sorting through information. But some people think that dreams hold deep psychological meaning. And others think they can even foretell the future, if you know how to read the signs.
I ... never really used to have dreams much, when I was still mortal, at least none that I remember. I've been having them a lot more recently. Dreaming can be a pleasant experience, just as long as it's not a nightmare.
It's a lot to take in, surely. Ten thousand years is an achingly brief period of time for me, but it must seem like eternity to you. You'll have so much more fun with that time if you learn all you're capable of~ ;)
Is that all? How boring. I knew I wasn't missing anything important. Humans in particular ascribe so much power and symbolism to dreams; those are all things I can do naturally.
Nightmare? You don't have control over what you dream either? It's a wonder how mortals can put up with sleeping. When I was made mortal I slept once, and it was terrifying! Losing all your energy, slipping into unconsciousness, with no awareness of your surroundings, losing long tracks of time... how can you stand such a loss of control? It's as if your bodies have minds of their own. How unseemly.
I'll have a lot more fun with Eva by my side during my reign as Avatar. We're working on a way to extend her lifespan.
I ... still think my dreams have some meaning. I'm not sure if they are premonitions of things to come, or a perhaps a revelation of some inner truth, but there must be some reason why my dreams keep having the same symbols in them.
Sleep is a restful activity because of the utter loss of control. All the worries of the day just slip away into darkness and silence. I don't know, really. I always enjoy sleeping. I was never much of a morning person when I was a mortal, and becoming Avatar hasn't changed that fact.
It's best not to think about this sort of thing. You're still you, no matter whether you're a god or a demi god or a would be god. So you know? Just keep being brilliant.
Hmm. I've heard a bit about this Canaletto, and from what I've heard, he's not the sort of person you'd want to run into in a dark alley. Or even a light one.
No, he's not. He's able to manipulate the very fabric of time and space to influence events as he sees fit. That's why Eva has such a painful past: Canaletto was responsible for all the sadness and trauma in her childhood.
The Chozo used to believe that you are nothing more and nothing less than what you do. Do the things that need to be done, do the things that only you can do, and do good- do that, and whatever you are doesn't even matter.
They're not gods, if that's what you mean. Or, at least, they didn't used to be; who even knows, now. And they didn't create my universe: they just tried to understand it as best they can, and make it better in whatever way they could.
And they were smart; they had technology that we simply can't comprehend today, their conception of science was completely different from ours, they were conducting experiments on the nature of reality itself-
And one day, they discovered something, and evidently decided that some sort of cosmic knowledge and power, some sort of responsibility, even, was more important than anything in the physical universe. Every single one of them left, and they didn't even tell me anyone.

Nightmares?

Yeah, nightmares about the past ... or maybe the future? I don't really know at this point. But lately, I keep dreaming about him. Canaletto.
