If you could completely start your life over from scratch, what would you do differently the second time around?

I ... I think that I would have not wasted my life trying to avenge my grandfather's death. When I think about it ... I don't think he would have wanted me to live my life that way.

And, if it were possible ... I wish I could have met Eva

You're right. It's best to live in the here and now. I try not to dwell on the past too much.

At least I learned something from my mistakes. Vengeance is never a good reason for fighting.

It is kind of a downer meme, but really it doesn't make much difference, right? I mean you can't let your past ruin your present. What's done is done. (Easier said than done I know - letting go of those kinds of regrets and all - but it can still be done. :) )

I know. I mean, if I had never joined the military, I wouldn't have been picked to be the gunner for the Earth Team, and I never would have met Eva. I think ... that things happen for a reason. Even bad things. Because sometimes the bad parts of our lives can lead to better things, ya know?

A hundred years ago, when I found out I'm the Avatar...my life started to take a turn for the worst. I know I told you I was frozen in the iceberg, but the reason why is that I ran away from home and got caught in a storm. Appa and I would've drown if my Avatar Spirit hadn't kicked in and preserved us in the iceberg. For a long time after I woke up and learned about the war, I felt really bad, especially because while I was gone, all the other Air Nomads were killed and I thought I could've helped. But...Katara made me realize that everything had happened for a reason, that I had probably been meant to fight the Fire Nation now when I'm most needed and I might've been killed with the other Air Nomads if I had stayed anyway. Plus I got to meet all the friends I have now - including you and Eva and Aikka.

So yeah, I know what you're trying to say. (Sorry that came out so long...)

[locked]No, it's all right. Yeah, I definitely get what you're saying. And you know, if I hadn't gone to Oban with Eva, I never would have been Avatar, either. In fact, some one far worse would have claimed the Avatar's throne, and that would have been the end of the galaxy for us.[/locked]

A gunner is ... someone who is an expert marksman and is really good at shooting guns. And a gun is ... a weapon that shoots projectiles at extremely high speeds, basically.
