he's just as displaced and confused as Steve, but even more broken
Yes. Damn Russkies. ;)
a better sense of Eli's character than most comics he's appeared in.
That's a wonderful compliment and I'm going to treasure it - about halfway through the revision process, I re-read all of YA and started wondering if I was even writing the guy on the page.

And sad and hot and lovely.
Although. In re your footnotes and capitalization therein: I've got to ask. Cap/Justice? I mean, I'm sure Vance has a crush, but I don't think he was in the fic. :)

Ahahaha! No, more like her, though I agree that just about everyone probably has crushed on Steve at one point or another.
Thank you so much.

I don't know the Young Avengers, but you make me wish I did.
I love how this section is as much about Eli's team -- family -- as it is Eli.
I love your quiet, quick, perfect description of Bucky in the graveyard.
I love the mention of Malcolm, because that kinda had to go there.
I really really want to know more about Eli's grandmother, because wow does she sound impressive.
And I just. Wow. Eli. I'm a little scared of him, but only because the sense I'm getting is of someone so *intense*, and that kind of mental force is scary. I think he'd be a nice guy if he was on your side, but not someone you'd really get to know.
(I squeaked kind of a lot at the civil war thing. !!!)

I am really glad that this helped you like Eli - he's a fascinating kid, stubborn and fierce and just so damn smart. He's damn good at enforcing personal boundaries, for a host of reasons.
And his grandma Faith rocks my world. Do check out Truth: Red, White, & Black if you can get your hands on it.
Thank you for this.

Slave name. !!! I. Um. Yeah, I may need to sit here for a minute at how perfect that was.
Oooh. LeRoi Jones. I've read LeRoi Jones, and I've read Amiri Baraka. It makes for an interesting contrast, and I kind of want to sit down and just listen to Eli *talk*, you know?
Kid brother. I. !
!!!
Negroes. Part of me winced at that, and the rest of me knew it was right, because Bucky *is* an anachronism.
The kiss. Oh, the kiss. I want fanart, I admit it. And then the handjob going to blowjob, and oh *Eli*. Oh, Eli. I want to hug Eli. I also want to steal your brain so that I can write the way you do.
Bucky is my boy, my Marvel dear. I adore him, and the Bucky you write is... darn it, I cannot even tell you, I love your Bucky so much I cannot do anything besides flail.

OMG, now I *do*, too. So very badly!
Thank you for this - Bucky's a dear, a scary, highly-trained sneaky little feral dear. <3
