Next icon fic (I *am* writing them, it's just taking longer than I thought). fox1013 wanted either Twitch City or Grover. She gets both, because I heart her like whoa and this idea was too ridiculous to resist

So I was checking my flist one last time in the hopes that something might make me happy despite my expected upcoming day of research. And then this was here, and now I am VIBRATING with glee.
Oh my god, gloss.
I can't stop grinning. This is fanTAStic.
Oh my god, I just... wow. WOW.
Curtis! And Hope! And GROVER!
This was just... this was in character for EVERYONE, and man, I love Grover INFINITY and yet I am totally on Curtis's side with the TAPES and OUTSIDE and ELMO-BASHING and. And.
I miss you, Foxlet! I'm so glad you caught this -- it was a JOY to write and I realized, in the course of it, that you always get me to write the *strangest*, most fun things. One more reason to ADORE you.
G. is worried about Grover being away from his mom. Thoughts?
I miss you too! We should have a chat playdate at some point. Or at least there should be copious exchanging of emails. *nods*

That does sound like my M.O.!
I think that sometimes, it is important for Grover to be away from his mommy, because it makes him miss her more and makes their relationship that much more important and wonderful. I bet she calls twice a week and Grover tells her everything he has learned while living in Canada.
Well, if I had ever doubted (and I didn't) that you can write anything and make it wonderful, this would prove it. I love that treating Curtis like a four-year-old turns out to be the right approach. And Grover is adorable when he's all sad at being replaced by the Louis the Francophone otter. The disgruntled-actor aspect of his character is hilarious.
I do not know this twitch city you speak of, but I love Grover. So optomistc and helpful and furry and cute.
A Grover song, for you:
Saw a monster in the mirror When I woke up today, A monster in my mirror But I did not run away. I did not shed a tear or hide beneath my bed, Though the monster looked at me And this is what he said:
Chorus: Wubba wubba wubba wubba Woo woo woo, Wubba wubba wubba And a doodly-do.
