Thanks. It's good to be back. I joked to wizardelfgirl the other day that updating was #654 on my to-do list and I was only down to #3. I'll try to be a good girl and be around more.
I'm sorry about your grandmothers. I lost both of mine within a year of each other and I just wasn't ready. Not that I ever would have been, but . . .
Yeah, I wouldn't have known what to do about going to visit that guy either. Strings were probably implied, but by asking you make the chance for it to be denied even if was intended. I would totally have done the same thing you did. First because I'd be way more comfortable on my own turf, but also . . . I just would have been too caught up in over-thinking what was intended.

My grandpa died in 1995 of a massive heart attack. He was so strong, so healthy, so ... powerful... that we would have never guessed he'd be the one to go first. My grandma had been unwell for so long, and she was 97... There's just no being ready.
First of all, I'm sorry about your grandma. Whether good or bad, her influence in your life helped make you what you are today, and for that alone she deserves praise.
Hm, now I aunderstand the 'strings attached' thing. It does sound kinda fishy, but it's hard to know what his intentions truly are. Guess we'll have to wait until he does visit you. The good thing is that he will be on your turf and not you on his, so the last word is yours.
Too bad about the coach. I guess going to practice and all is good exercise, but if at some point it gets more like a chore than something fun I think you should quit. Maybe you can find another sport you might like? And find a team?
And pleased to catch up with you - I've not been on LJ for the longest time, either. Twitter and Facebook require infinitely less energy and resolve than a thought-out LJ post, and there's only so much energy to be had at a given time!
Glad the move has worked out, I hope you quickly feel settled in the new place :)
