It was funny for a while, but now I just find it offensive. I'm a woman who occasionally sleeps with other women. I do not need two guys I've never met to declare their undying love for one another in order to validate my existence, and the fact that most of the people involved in this wank don't seem to be at all involved in the LGBT community is just...it's so gross and appropriative.

Plus, it seems like a pretty miserable way to be a fan. Instead of the vague happy feeling of "Aw, how great for Jensen and Danneel, and how nice that the Js and Misha will all have kids around the same age! <3", they get all that horrible rage and wank and delusion.

I've met RPS fans who are really cool and have a good grasp of the distinction between fantasy and reality, but the tinhats give everybody in the RPS fandom (and by extension, SPN fandom) a bad name.

I trawled through some of the other threads at that place with an ever-increasing sense of disbelief. I got to the point where someone seemed to be posting to say they had been posting fake information there for ages, whereupon someone else complained bitterly about their tactics, accused them of being a troll, and appealed to whoever mods the place to report the poster's IP address to LJ. Irony can be pretty ironic at times.
