IT MIGHT AS WELL BE, knowing Masaru.

The only time he doesn't need to punch a Digimon in the face is when he uses Digisoul Full Charge... which is powered by the LOOOOOOOOOVE.

Touma's angst primarily comes from the fact that... his mother got killed in a car crash.

By pushing him out of the way.

And Touma watched her die.

HE IS VERY TRAUMATIZED BY THIS, and it doesn't help that Masaru's mother looks exactly like her.
