Inception Big Bang Art
So I was insane enough (and still so intimidated by what I'm planning to do for katbear for something I owe her from ages ago that I need a run-up to it) that I decided to do a pinch hit for the Inception Big Bang. It was an interesting experience, thinking about art for a story that was in mid-write and where I wasn't quite sure how the characters were going to land up by the end.
Story: In Nobody's Eyes But Mine

Inception's canon allows for imaginative takes, given that the characters might spend a lot of time in dreamspace: I chose the only dream sequence then written to concentrate on. The setting was fairly down-to-earth - a classroom in a university - so I used the lecture hall in Paris where Dominic Cobb visits Stephen Miles as a basis, and had fun skewing the perspective to give it a slightly unreal feel :) I took photos as I went along, and might get round to doing a process post to show how it was built up from that. It was my first time with using wet-into-wet watercolour - which, absolutely terrifying!!! I am such a control-freak: this is the opposite of how my art usually happens!
