I adore the Sally Donovan-DI Lestrade dynamic here, especially the fact that she worked hard not to be the team's "coffee girl," but she'll bring it to him when she thinks he needs it, specifically because he doesn't ask (and doesn't have anyone else to mind him).

The idea of her baking the bread, not to eat it, but for the comfort of its smell is just lovely.

Thanks! I enjoyed writing Sally, and thinking about the potential dynamics of her relationship with Lestrade is kind of interesting.

Thanks! It was fun playing with characters that I usually don't write, especially Mycroft. :-)

I enjoyed all of this, but the ending line really got me. Oh, Mycroft! <3

Thanks so much! In my head canon, Sherlock resembles their mother physically, but Mycroft is the one that identifies with her most strongly.

Thanks so much! Sherlock definitely remains one of the most fascinating characters to me, particularly this incarnation. But I highly doubt I'd be able to take much of him in person.
