Augh, this is really poignant-and-aching-and-emo sex, you know? Again, masterful characterizations. I just feel for Greg so much, and it's clear here that he's not exactly getting what he needs (or, in a way, getting treated in quite the same way that he's treated Kurt). Geez, but Kurt's got more issues that The Times, and his question about why Greg is punishing himself says more, perhaps, about Kurt than about Greg. I love how you've left so much that needs to be resolved here. Clearly Greg's made a crack in Kurt's armor - quite possibly more than Kurt even realizes - and I'm dying to see where this goes now. You've made this beautifully complicated and wrenching, as it should be, and both men beautifully three-dimensional (and as awkward as mostly-straight-men-who-are-nearly-strangers-and-now-in-bed-together-but-obviously-connecting-at-some-level should be), as well
( ... )
Thanks so much! I really appreciate your insights into the characters, and your consistently lovely feedback!
Kurt's got more issues than The Times...
Why yes, yes he does. :-)
I find him to be both fascinating and infuriating (the way Branagh plays him, anyway). I think the two are similar enough to finds points of connection with each other, but different enough in key ways to make their interactions really interesting (Greg putting himself out there and Kurt withholding, for example).
Hmm...that could be really interesting. In some ways, I see their working styles as very similar - both highly intuitive and doggedly persistent. But Wallander tends toward the "I can do everything myself and never call for backup" type, while Lestrade depends heavily on his team (and Sherlock) and isn't too proud to admit he needs help. I'll have to ponder this some more and see if I can come up with a plausible scenario.
If the muse is willing I would be happy to read it! :D, Lestrade could be visiting Wallander, 'you know, I know a guy who runs off on his own without backup ...'
This is brilliant, I love how the relationship between them is playing out. Look forward to seeing what happens after they both get back to their homes, and reflect on it.

I'm gonna be so much more eager reading this now that I've seen some of the show Wallander. What a woobie he is... *hugs him*

He's a total woobie. A big, gruff, melancholy woobie.

Yeah - he did take a shine to Harderberg rather quickly. Perhaps not the best judge of character. *cough* suckerforaprettyface *cough*
