You've captured it perfectly! The firelight from the house, Harry's agitation as he flees, but that backward glance is so telling. And I love that you chose this scene, because for both of them, this was the ultimate test, wasn't it? Thanks so so much, C. I've looked at it several times in the past couple of hours, and all I can do is smile. Your caption, btw, is perfect too. And you know I love everything you draw, but when it's for me, I'm especially tickled. And this time, I'm just happy, too, to see you drawing.
Thanks hill! I honestly can't use photoshop or a tablet, or whatever it is you use to draw on the computer. It helped to start out with black paper as well.
Ok, I can be more literate than that. XD You made such good use of the darkness here. I know how hard black is to do, and I just love the implied figures and color that you put in there (I love that red). The lighting is also just amazing, you can really make things look like they're glowing. It just all makes for such an exciting pictures with so much mood and emotion.
Lol, what's really funny is that I've always liked using heavy shadows, but only considered using white paper. You can imagine how many headaches that caused. I now have a stock of colored papers, but I especially love using black.
I'm happy you liked it, and thank you for commenting. :)
The house is right out of joanwilder's fic. A plus was I got to show off the remnants of my geeky astronomer-knowledge. I knew one day it'd come in handy. :D
Aaahh, this is beautifully done! The fading light from the door and the lit wand are so expressive... and Harry's exression -- priceless. I love the sky, too. It's just perfect. The whole pic is just perfect. *admires*

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's perfect, but I'm glad I did joanwilder's story justice.
