Hey, Melissa here.

Perhaps I'm jumping the gun for my Indian readers, since India doesn't get to see Slumdog Millionaire for another week and a half (it's out Jan. 23, fyi), but in light of the glitzy award show this weekend, thought I would ask people a couple questions about the movie.

I watched Danny Boyle's flick over Christmas with my family ( Read more... )

I thought the movie was great. I've never been to India, and can't claim any street cred about being well versed in any serious details about India ( ... )

Now that the world has deteriorated to an all time low - "Out of Order" is the perfect remedy for channeling your aggression. Angst and emotional turmoil fused with contageous melodies rendering a positive twist over the ominous realities of the world.
For a limited time we are providing FREE downloads of this song as an effort to help propagate the message of necessary change from the current failed policies.

Just for reference, I dont think your jumping the gun on anyone. I was just in India and Nepal and I bought my slumdog dvd for 30cents at a video store in a remote little town in Nepal. those things are out in Asian countries before most of you have ever seen them in the west.

I guess if we all believed what we saw in the movies, we'd all think that America was full of gun totin, rocket launching terrorists. Oh wait maybe that's a bad example. But generally I think some of the outcry from India has been because they arent use to being depicted in a realistic way, Slumdog certainly aint Bollywood. Personally the film made me want to jump right back on a plane to that lovely, exhausting terrifying amazing country. I was disappointed that the movie seemed to run out of legs at the end. It sort of drifted into a sappy love story and boy does makes good. The brother just shooting himself seemed like more of an act of desperation from the director than the character.
