I'm going to swap whippet pictures now. These are my boys enjoying their Civil Partnership, "They're in a Civil Partnership" being my stock response to the frequently asked question "Are they related?"

Small children ask me 'is your dog gay?' when they see Dandelion in his silver summer raincoat (no one believes me when I say I didn't choose it because it's silver; it's heat reflective. Honest.) I tell them I don't know, but he's comfortable with his masculinity and I would support any lifestyle choice he might wish to make. That gets 'em : D

In my experience, canine sexuality is quite a fluid thing - not, thank God, that's it's ever resulted in the production of actual fluid. No, what I mean is dogs tend not to be bothered in the slightest about the gender of the dog they're sexually harrassing at any given moment. My two used to get terribly excited when food was being prepared, resulting in a regular cry by me of "NO BUMMING IN THE KITCHEN", a rule to which I adhere myself. Having said that, Oscar (the one on the right) is definitely gsy, which he proved when he chose to dress up as Princess Margaret for a fancy dress competition. Well I say "he decided"; it's more that I made that choice for him. Rufus won as Boris Johnson.

That is quite possibly the most perfect mental image of the day (in all senses of the word). Makes me think I should have taken Dandelion in with me to work on Friday, suitably attired, to accompany me as I emptied clinical bins whilst decked in a tiara.
