I wudda thought it was more because no-one really gets time to put the 'r' in, so it sounds like perogative?

You learn something new every day, right? Even if that does mean I've been spelling it wrong for years. Why did NO-ONE correct me? And people complain that modern languages are going to the dogs. *headdesk*
