I've been thinking about upgrading my LJ to a sponsored one in order to get more icon space, but it's just the thought of ads cluttering my journal that's holding me back...

They're not all that cluttering. I mean, I have some at the very top, and some at the very bottom, and then some when I see my icons or profile. Nothing major :)
