Title: An Unsuitable Boy
Fandom: Watchmen/Iron Man
Pairing: Adrian Veidt/Tony Stark
Rating: NC17ish
Summary: Adrian knew the boy would be trouble. He didn’t realise how much trouble.
Notes: Since Watchmen is AH and its canon is so firmly grounded in late 1985, I’m screwing with Iron Man’s canon instead, which is kind of vague in any case. According ( Read more... )

Sweet! I must admit that I have no idea about Watchman, but haaving seen IM2, I think I could still get enough of the story, if not all the subtle details you're scattering throughout (which is a shame, which makes I shall go watch that other movie now).

Their fight to get one up on the other is really intriguing, they seem very much a like and then different again. In the end they seem to really complement each other. They'd make a good team.

Great to see you writing again, I miss your fics!

Thanks for reading! Watchmen is a seriously good film and a bloody brilliant comic book, so yeah, recommended viewing *g* Adrian is incredibly narcissistic, but in a different way to Tony - or at least it manifests in a different way. They're both genius-level and neither deal very well with other people, but while Tony is very trusting, Adrian doesn't trust anyone. So as you say, they're alike but different.

Originally this was going to be one of those 'five times' fics - five times when Tony confounded Adrian and the one time they were in accord - but the accord in the last scene ended up showing their differences, too.

IDK, they're an incredible pairing. They melt my brain LOL

Ok, after the string of shitty days that have been going on on my side, finding this on my flist today has been amazing and awesome and amazing and awesome :P
It's just such an epic fic. Adrian/Tony is incredibly perfect and you've written it brilliantly. I love everything about this fic, how Adrian can't possibly resist him, and Tony being such a little youthful arrogant cataclysm, and Jarvis digging through Adrian's personal files, and that discussion about modern art vs classical art. Just...amazing.

THEY ARE SO PERFECT TOGETHER YES YES I don't have a Tony Stark icon so have Sherlock Holmes instead.

Srsly this pairing will kill me. It's all I can think about.

I'm glad it was a good distraction for you ^^

Guh. I knew you were tossing up the idea for a fic featuring these two, but I didn't know that you'd write it so fast!!

Loved it. I especially liked the juxtaposition between Tony's apparent bluster, but inward assuredness compared with Adrian's outward composure, but repressed emotion. These two are such diametric opposites in some ways, but so similar in others and it's really interesting how you've woven in Tony's development with the Watchmen universe.

And also, nngh at the sex. I love the tussle for power that begins and ends their who sexual encounter. And I love the fact that Tony is such a slut. Because let's face it, he is so very easy.

I really thought the subplot with Jarvis was interesting too, in terms of what he found in Adrian's files and the personality that you've given him as well. Jarvis/Adrian is screwed up on so many levels, the only difference between the two is that Jarvis is still a machine and Adrian just acts like one.

Guh. Just, loved it. XD

Just got in from watching Iron Man 2 for the second time *flibble* I want to write Tony/Jarvis next. And then more Adrian/Tony. Because together they hit every single one of my kinks and I don't think that's ever happened before in such an all-encompassing way!

*ahem* Thank you! They are so similar and so different. And the whole alternative power thing that they're both working on could be explored more comprehensively too, especially post-Karnak.

It strikes me that Paul Bettany and Matthew Goode are not wildly dissimilar in looks! Hmm hmm I will try Tony/Jarvis for sure XD

LOL Yes I can see how the older, knowing Adrian bedding young, impetuous Tony would be a kink for you!

Oh please be writing Tony/Jarvis!! Or really any more IM fic from you would be wonderful :D But the way your Jarvis is so sentient really does raise many, many possibilities, all of them porny >D

I think you just killed my brain with Matthew Goode/Paul Bettany. God the arrogant snark between those two would just be epic.

Thank you! I kept watching the Jarvis scenes in the first film and thought he's smart enough to find Adrian's secrets... without necessarily telling Tony about them!

Oh... oh god. Adrian you bastard. God these two together, in that time period, just before

*is reduced to incoherence*

This is excellent. The two of them on complete opposite ends of the coin with the same purpose to make the world a better place.

... still like Tony better.

Thank you! The similarities between them are just so striking, but the age gap and the repression/hedonism contrast makes all the difference. Tony wins for the hedonism *g*
