...I finally got my passport back from the Chinese embassy after the Saturday postman sent it to the depot, who pissed about with the re-delivery. Anyway it's here now - and I have a Chinese visa in it, so...

Admittedly I am accompanying my mother on a 20-hour journey (not looking forward to this bit) via Zurich for reasons

what do you plan to do in china? what places will you visit?

I'm visiting my brother and his family. They live in a large town about 2 hours from Shanghai, and as they have a young toddler (my nephew isn't 2 yet), we'll be staying in that area. I'm going to Hangzhou, which is a beautiful place, and we're doing day trips to some of the ancient water-towns (Suzhou, Nanxun, Tongli, etc). It's a very pretty part of China and hopefully we'll catch the end of the blossom season!

20 hours, *head*desk*, I have a "thing" about peeing on planes, so I'd be walking off of it finally with my legs crossed and a flat butt...which isn't a bad thing under normal circumstances.
