Back from RHB. At the start of the week it was so cold we had to excavate the electric heater from the pile of crap under the stairs. By Tuesday the weather was looking distinctly as if it was heading towards 'warm', and then on Wednesday came the blazing sunshine and temperatures took a 20-degree hike upwards. Finally, 28 deg C weather ( Read more... )

Great to hear you had a good time!

12.5 books? OMG you're such a fast reader!

Only saw the 2nd semi finals here because Germsn TV couldnt be bothered to show the first one since we couldn't vote anyway. Norway was awesome in the 2nd!

Will you be on twitter tonight? I have wine and I want to use it :P

Two were for review so I have to pull finger and write the first review really soon. But yeah, I do read fast - and the Kindle makes me faster. I swear that's the one massive advantage of doing Arts degrees - my ability to speed-read!

Oh good, I wasn't sure if Tooji was any good at singing live. That's often a problem with the ESC, great studio songs but crappy live performances. Depending on how drunk I get, I might end up voting for Austria LMAO

Yes I'll be on twitter with my schnapps! See you there!

Welcome back :)

Norway!!!!! LOL TBH I only like his choreography and am grudgingly replaying the song just because it's such a perfect earworm, but the Aussie commentators were going crazy over him XD

We're getting the finals on delayed telecast (Australia loves the Euro crack!), but I only really want to know how Italy/Russia/France end up doing, so I'll look forward to your tweets showing up on the timeline! \o/

Yay for some fossils!

It's a massive earworm. And the perfect cheesy Europop. I'm quite excited this year since I don't know most of the songs, so it's Just Like The Old Days before extra telly channels.

Slowly working my way towards your fic... does this mean you're free to write my HenWon now?????

*flees away*

LOL Everybody's saying Sweden is the favourite, but I reckon the Russian grannies are going to get a massive amount of votes, they're so cute. Also, the Turkish guy is just hilariously campy.

does this mean you're free to write my HenWon now?????

Er, I see no EunHae snow angels D:

In terms of who can afford to host it next year, it'll be someone outside the Eurozone, so maybe the Russians can do it again. Otherwise I wouldn't be surprised to see a Scandinavian victory.

Oh I wrote the snow angels fic on the beach but it melted in all this hot weather D: D: D:

Welcome back! :) I dreamed about hanging out with you, Amy and Emma earlier this week, LOL.
[/random]

I watched both semi-finales but thought it was a little disappointing. I had listened to most of the songs on YouTube before and they all seemed SO GOOD and then I watched the live performances and was all "WTF?!" more often than not. I really liked Denmark and Hungary and Estonia, and I'm also fond of the UK and German entries (though the German guy isn't the best live performer...), but I reckon either Russia, Ireland or Sweden will win. Or that trainwreck entry from Turkey. :S

LOL you know you're welcome any time!! :D

I actually like our song but I wish Englebert wasn't singing it. He's such a dick and he has been all over the media this last week D:

Ireland can't afford to host it! The Turkish song is bizarre but stranger entrants have won... I have yet to hear the Russian grannies. I'm, er, looking forwards to it???

Finally, 28 deg F weather!

You know how you're rubbish at maths - you're not so hot on meteorology ?

28deg F is about -2 in celsius... and if you think it was that cold I think you were on a different holiday from me!

Is it too early to start drinking now? I could go get another bottle of cheap-ass Co-op ginger wine to add to the cocktail...

LMFAO I blame watching the Quali - I was staring at the timing screen and the track temperature is always given in Fahrenheit (ugh, Calvin, DNW)... you know how easily I get confused :p

I can't drink yet, I have two of Zera's fics to read and Chrissy's KyuSung! I need to stay relatively sober in order to comment!
