omg, if that bill passes through...PLEASE have Blaine officially "own" Kurt...like, have Burt offer Kurt to Blaine on document or something...or Blaine offer and Burt wind up agreeing after thinking about it cause even if he doesn't like the idea of it, he wants Kurt SAFE...I can't think of what would happen if Burt had another heart attack and then Kurt would be left to fend for himself legally, because no one can do anything about the govt taking him away because only BURT has ownership on the basis that Kurt's his son...*cries*

I never really intended it to be a question of ownership. Faeries are considered in a similar way to pets, I guess, in that you can buy them, but that doesn't mean you have ownership of them for life or anything. And people trade in them, but people 'steal' them, too. That's why Kurt was afraid of Blaine at first when the other boy found out what he was, because he was scared he would be dragged off and sold/taken into what is essentially sex slavery. The government itself is unlikely to take Kurt, but people who work for it may want to because of what they can use him for. Really, Burt selling Kurt to Blaine wouldn't make him any safer. Blaine isn't high up in any companies, etc., so people would have very few qualms just taking Kurt from him. Faeries are disgustingly like chattels. So, don't cry. At least, don't cry about that! Thank you!

well, I was thinking more along the lines of his family being rich, so better protection? I mean, I figure there has to be SOME way for Blaine to afford Dalton so easily for so long...especially if his dad's not that accepting...doubt he'd transfer his son to a all-boys school just like that....
