Marlon Brando was hot back in the day. You’d never guess that if you’d seen The Godfather, but wow. He had that electricity that makes every little move he makes fascinating. Wish I had that. Three Garam Masala Mixes thatursula January 28 2007, 05:38:06 UTC
Madhur Jaffrey's Garam Masala from Ground Spices (yields 3 tbs)

1 tbs cardamom seeds (pod husks removed)
One 2-inch stick of cinnamon
1 tsp black cumin seeds (can substitute regular comin seeds)
1 tsp whole cloves
1 tsp black peppercorns
1/4 of an average size nutmeg

Place all ingredients in a clean electric coffee or espresso grinder and run for 30-40 seconds until the spices are finely ground. Store in a small jar with a tight-fitting lid and keep away from heat and sunshine.

Garam Masala from Ground Spices (yields 1/4 cup)
Mix together:
1 tbs ground cumin seed
1 tbs ground corriander seed
2 tsp ground black pepper
2 tsp peeled ground cardamom pods
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
