Just take the name over and use it for your own ends. Some African Americans use the "n-word" as a means of enpowerment so it disarms the historically hateful usesage of the term. You should read Randall Kennedy's "Nigger," it is a much better written account of what I just said. I have a whimsical story about my encouter with the author as well, who signed my copy of the book.
