Because I have been mostly un- and underemployed this summer, I have had a lot of free time. What I have done with much of that free time is watch television shows I'd been told about, but hadn't seen for some combination of reasons, usually involving not having cable. I completely agree with you on Deadwood; such a fantastic show. It's definitely one of a kind. I have high hope that David Milch's next project will be terrific too.

I LOVE The Wire, but it took a long time for me to really get into it, since it's quite dense as a show. So many characters, such huge issues. But after a while, I loved it a lot. It's so ambitious and so empathic.
