Between the mountains and the sea

Jul 27, 2011 00:19

A little over a week ago, herecirm and I set out for a long weekend together on the Gower peninsula, an area I used to visit often when I was at university in Swansea and had been longing to revisit for years. It was a fantastic weekend and I took loads of pictures, which I will now offer you the freedom to ignore through the magic of the LJ Cut.

It was really good, even if the bottom did fall out of summer as we drove over so it turned out to be more of a winter weekend that happened to occur in July...

Wonderful photos! That's one part of Wales I've never managed to visit, so I'll have to add it to my wishlist... I'm not too worried about developing spontaneous elbow patches since they'll come in handy when I'm lying down to photograph invertebrates & stuff.

It's well worth it- really gorgeous place to visit although with coast and hills probably less of a change for you.

In the dank recesses of my mind, I have met many times with the elusive blind cave Unicorn - found only in the even more elusive caves of the East Anglian fens - and I can assure you that they are a magnificent and largely misunderstood species. At some point I will collate my field notes and sketches for your entertainment. Unfortunately, a lot of my information was lost when one latched on to me and tried to dissolve my foot.

Travelling around the Gower with you was a truly wonderful holiday and I am honoured to be your adventure buddy. I will upload my own, less succinctly put, post when I have some free time. Maybe this weekend. Oh, wait, hang on ... YOU'RE VISITING. :D

Party on a log!
