Today has been hectic but really good fun. A month or so back life_of_tom and I visited allezbleu's yard on the way back from the Jackals event so I could have a bit of a play with her little cute pony Jess. She seemed quite happy with what I did that day because when one of her friends at the yard was having trouble with her mare allezbleu suggested sleepsy_mouse and I could maybe come ( Read more... )

haha, she looks like she has a lot to say & is not impressed that you had an answer for her either.

She really did have a lot to say. It was very interesting to work with her. Once we got on the same page she was so sensitive too, really nice to work with. We just had to spend quite a while going through all the other pages before we found it.

Reminds me a bit of working with Thea...that blanking things out until it all comes out...interesting dynamic isn't it?

It sounds like you had a great time...and there really is some sort of magic in helping a horse see how they can do as you ask and not find it burdensome too, isn't there? Things like this still get my adrenaline up a bit too much to be good for me, but I know how happy I feel after a session with a bit of drama in the beginning turns into a really nice cooperative collaboration, and it's really neat you got to help the human too. :-)

In the long run it's her human who needs to be working with her every day, so although I can make some big changes quite quickly I need to help her to make the tougher and smaller changes that we have to make every day as horse owners. It's often easier to come in when a horse doesn't know what you're about and make a good impression, harder when they see you every day...
