For those of you who enjoy the reading of books I shall append my recommendation to that of the very reliable shiva_matimbres and strongly suggest that if you have not already done so you obtain a copy of The Raw Shark Texts. It is very good indeed.

I don't even really have a reference point for it- maybe a bit House Of Leaves ( but less reliant on textual

I hate House of Leaves. Worst book ever, including Love Lives.

Don't let that stop you reading this one, it has a lot more heart to it I think and is more of a straight line story.

Is Love Lives the one with Tom's violin?

I will certainly try it.

Love Lives was free with Cosmo many years ago and has nothing what so ever good about it.

Dance of Submission at least had a plot, loosely developed characters and a violin.

That is right. Like all great musical instruments, that violin was pretty much a character in itself.
