I suspect I know the author of this based solely on the sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.
The flowers with not-enough-change was just too teenagery and heartbreaking too.

So much.
The bouquets all had the anemic, underfed charm of hothouses and cargo jets.
Something about this image.... is so real and heartbreaking. The first time I read it it struck me... and continued to do so the following three times. Such a lovely paragraph. (so I re-read it, what of it? You starting something there A.A.?)
"I think she wants out. Life in a box can’t be too fun, you know?”
Such a Puck thing to say. A puck-ish sentiment if you will. And yet incredibly honest and profound.
She cried for a long time.
Eventually he did, too.
Classy ending, A.A.! Broken and healing and together. The only way they'll possible make it through whole at the other end of the tunnel.
