Glee Mystery solved! Recurring player Josh Sussman pretty much confirmed what we suspected, that McKinley High gossip king Jacob Ben Israel was forced into a particularly low profile this season as the result of rubbing people the wrong way with his orgasmic writhing during last fall’s “Toxic” performance. “People found that episode very offensive ( Read more... )

The issue I have with this is less that it is Sussman's performance and more like "this is what RIB wrote and how it was directed." Yes, Sussman didn't have to do it that way, but that was what the Glee people thought would work best and it backfired. I'd rather have seen more of Jacob last season to get a better multi-faceted picture of him to offset that seen than to simply not see him around.

This. It feels like the writers have to pack a shit-ton of stuff in so they're ignoring established characters for the "new crop" already. I'm going to save my side-eyeing until I actually see how this plays out, but I'm not exactly...thrilled with this news.

YES. that has been a long-standing annoyance with me. They keep chasing the new shiny and forgetting the older stuff. Well, there is one more season of the current cast, then I'll probably stop watching anyways.

EDIT: the old stuff is what GOT THEM HERE. they need to remember that.

I can understand going with the Warblers, because they were a huge hit. However, new Sam storyline? Um, guys? Comeback was an hour last season we will never get back, and if you have more of that coming our way, DNW. And uh, NOBODY is wanting any of the new Glee Project Cast Members. My problem with last season, however, was that Glee...didn't really have any adversaries EXCEPT Sue...and now...if they don't even have Sue against them? How are we supposed to root for them?

Although I have to say...Sue for President? YES PLEASE!

The character is super creepy. But RIB and company had the final say in the scene and the way it was portrayed. So I don't really blame Sussman. Doesn't stop me from being creeped out.

Totally. HE RUINED AN AMAZING PERFORMANCE, ASSHOLE. But the whole sex riot thing would have ruined it anyway, but still.

Not a huge fan Of Jacob.

But the actor is not to be blamed he did probably as scripted and directed.

they should have never put all those thing in their. One statement by Jacob and one by Lauren would have been plenty.

Oh, I'm not blaming the actor, but Jacob still did those things. I don't think RIB blamed it on him, they wanted to give them a break from Jacob (I know he said me, but people say me/I when referencing characters all the time), and that happens with characters all the time. Sucks for the actor, but whatever. He was a guest star anyway, that's what happens.
