I love how they do these commercials and yet are photographed with plastic water bottles, Starbucks take out cups and plastic shopping bags. It's one thing to do a PSA and another entirely to actually embrace the ideology and live it.

The water bottles, yeah, but are the Starbucks cups not recyclable? Also, there are some plastic bags that are made of recyclable material. Some stores in Toronto have them.

I don't know if Starbucks cups are recyclable or not (I boycott the chain). But they do have the option of using a reusable hot drink cup, which Starbucks sells, just as they would with a water bottle.

I have tons of reusable shopping bags, many of which are made from recycled pop bottles. I also have bags from clothing stores.

I find it infinitely frustrating when stars preach environmentalism during an ad, because it makes them, the show/movie and/or network/production company look good, but the minute they're outside of the ad, they act demonstrably different.

isn't it almost completely impossible to buy something in the us WITHOUT getting a plastic bag?? i am european and whenever i am in the states i am telling the cashier at the supermarket that i don't need a plastic bag, but they dont care and just give me one o.O maybe i am not fierce enough ^^
