'SNL' Alum Victoria Jackson Slams Gay Kiss on 'Glee'

Mar 21, 2011 16:23

Former 'Saturday Night Live' comedian Victoria Jackson has slammed 'Glee' for the same sex kiss that was featured on the hit TV show last week.

'Glee' characters Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss) kissed for the first time last week. And it wasn't a peck. It was, by many accounts, a perfect kiss.

Jackson, however, did not think so, and she ( Read more... )

They didn't shove it down anyone's throats! I honestly will never understand homophobes.

I'm far from being a homophobe but objectively speaking...they kinda do shove it down our throats. It became the Kurt show for a while and all about his personal troubles as a gay teen and how lonely he was and how he was being bullied as if none of the other kids suffer through the same trials. Victoria's wrong on so many levels but in that comment, I agreed. RM loves to put Kurt front and center and lately there's been more Warbler numbers than ND. Blaine by himself has more solos than half the ND group. RM likes to treat homosexuality like it's some target audience, it's something to appeal to and it isn't. It's a characteristic, it's not the defining factor of what makes a person, a person.

This is so true but at the same time I find that ratio is still majorly skewed because the boy-on-boy action we've seen long surpasses anything girl-on-girl. Look at the amount of time the Brittany/Santana relationship has been given to flourish and look at Kurt/Blaine. K/B have had ample time to flourish and show their development. SB, as more than a friendship, has been known since the first 13 eps and it's only NOW that they're given some time. I mean if we're being honest, nothing on glee is necessarily fair. If there's a gay storyline, it's rammed down our throats. If there's a hetero storyline, it's rammed down our throats. But in that there's an imbalance of what kind of couples we see. We get something here and there when it comes to anything resembling Brittana but KB is like the pinnacle of greatness in RM's eyes.

I kind of went off on a tangent, haha.

You have got to be kidding me.

I can't.

First of all, shoving the gay thing down our throats? How? How exactly? Yes, the show has been basically the Kurt Show this season, but only a couple episodes (NBK, SLS, OS) have really focused on them.

And mockery of Christians? Um, there are several main characters that are Christians that have never really mocked it.

Girl, you're just looking for something to complain about.

I think that Victoria Jackson suffers from brain fail.
