How to Turn In Your Rough Draft

Apr 24, 2012 01:36

It's finally that time! You have until May 1st, 2012 to turn in your rough draft for Round 3 of the Glee Big Bang challenge.- The minimum requirement for rough drafts are 10,000 words or at least 80% of the story done. If you have something lower than that but are ABSOLUTELY sure you are going to finish it by the final due date I would accept that ( Read more... )

Could you explain what you mean by leave your coding in the email? Sorry, not a computer friend here. I have my story just in word.

They just mean that you shouldn't take off the and tags from what they want you to put in the body of the email. Just copy and paste what's in the text box up above and add your information without deleting anything. It has nothing to do with your story, just save that in .doc format (which is the native format for Word) and attach it to the email and you'll be fine. :)

What thelastpen said! If you still intend to send in a rough draft you have until the preview post goes up tomorrow!

Is there a certain time that fics have to be in by on Tuesday?

Nope, so no one needs to stress about getting them in a little late. Aim for Tuesday and if I end up getting it on Wednesday I will still accept it.

That is completely fine! Go ahead and send it in according to the directions above but just put Unofficial Draft in the subject line of the email instead of Rough Draft.

I need to switch mine to the unofficial track - I have about 5k completed right now. I'm still shooting for full completion by June 8th, though.

But I'm confused, does switching to the unofficial track mean you still want me to send you a copy of what I have, or should I just wait until I'm done?

Yes it does! Mostly I need your story information (the coding given above) that way as soon as you let me know you finish I could send it out to pinch hitter artists. Go ahead and send it in according to the directions above but just put Unofficial Draft in the subject line of the email instead of Rough Draft.

Question about the summaries, do you mean the sort of teaser summary that you would put out to entice readers, or more of an outline of what happens in the fic?

More like something in between that, you don't have to list every single thing that happens in the story up to the conclusion, but more give an artist an idea of what the story is about so they know what they are claiming. Honestly, there is no right or wrong way to write a summary, you are welcome to check out past claims post to get an idea of what summaries look like.
