Kurt, illness

Kurt is diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. He accepts it, deciding it's no big deal. He thinks it'll just help him stay in better shape.

But as the weeks go by he realises how much he's going to miss out on. He feels like it shouldn't be such a big deal, like he should just suck it up. But it sucks, and he's so angry and depressed that he can't even have a candy bar.

uhm you can have a candy bar when you have type one diabetes... I should know, what sucks about diabetes is the things you can't do, the countries you can't visit because they don't have the medicine to treat you. And low blood sugar.

I know they can. My mother has it. But she refuses to even allow herself a candy bar because she's scared and because she doesn't want to slip up and let it continue. That's what I meant.

Can you explain this prompt a little better? You said Kurt is "angry" because he "can't". It is proven that he technically can so it's not about "can't", it's about won't. Wouldn't that make Kurt fearful, not angry, like you said your mother is? I'll fill this, if you'd like, but I'm not sure what ya mean, sweetie. ^_^

spoilers season three Santana!angst

Santana has re-joined the cheer-leading squad with Brittney. They've been cheering together for years and enjoy the thrill, competitiveness and being on the team even if they have to deal with Sue's mania.

But since the coup with Quinn the other girls have acted cold and distant toward them. (The three did cause them to lose Nationals after all) Worse, now that the rumors about Santana have gotten around that she's a lesbian they don't want her on the team and begin to bully her. It all comes to a head in a cheer pyramid disaster.

Kurt + Finn/Rachel, AU

Kurt never joined the glee club. After his mother died, he turned inward, became quiet. He still likes fancy clothes but he doesn’t seek them out. He buys a lot of music but he just listens to it around the house. At school, he fades into the background. He focuses on academics as his way out. He’s invisible, at the top of the class, and goes home every day to study or do housework or read a book.

He’s not miserable, far from it. He and his dad love each other fiercely; they’re just… worlds apart. Kurt does work at the garage, sometimes.

Anyway, Burt and Carole still meet, still date, still move in together. Everything else from canon happens, just slightly differently without Kurt there.

All of the above can be totally glossed over, I was just trying to figure it all out.

So. Finn brings his girlfriend Rachel home one day. They’re hanging out, making out, whatever, when a voice fills the house.

Kurt sings in the shower, you see. And all I really want is that moment of discovery.

Interesting. I had an idea that started off with the same premise-Kurt turning inward after his mother's death, not joining Glee or being obviously fabulous, working hard at being top of the class and otherwise trying to stay hidden. In fact, I have the first couple of chapters. BUT:

a) I'm going to finish my current fic first;
b) I haven't developed the full plot outline yet; and
c) he's a far more broken creature, and I'm using it as a vehicle for a very twisted Kurtofsky relationship, which is quite different from what you want.

However, I really like the idea of Burt and Carole still meeting, and Rachel catching him singing in the shower. I also want a happy ending for it. Would you be interested in hearing about that when I write it, despite the weird Kurtofsky stuff being the real meat of the story?

It bothers Puck when people joke. Ask a friend about a cut or a scar on their arm or whatever and there's some reply of "I'm not emo" or "that's when I was emo" like it's a joke or something. It's not. Not all people that cut dress "emo" or whatever and cutting isn't something that should be laughed off.

Puck knows that. He has enough scars on his body to know that it's not a joke and...he knows that he's got a problem, okay? He's tried to stop. He has. But then he gets triggered and he doesn't have anyone to talk him down.

He doesn't have anyone that would care enough to make him stop.

Gen is fine. Open to ships, but nothing with Sam or Lauren.

I waaaaaant this. I totally get it too. Like the people who really do it because they have depression, they don't want people to see the scars they don't even want to look at them most of the time. But some people go around almost like they WANT people to notice then when it does get mentioned they go on about it like a fad or say how they aren't just doing it for attention, but they are. I have someone close to me that actually has medication and needed help for a while and she doesn't dress like she's depressed or anything, she is so glad she got help too, she wanted to stop. I'm really glad you prompted this. :D

It just pisses me off sometimes. I was talking to this kid once and I noticed a scar on his arm. He was like "nah, I wasn't one of those emos" and laughed it off. It pissed me the fuck off. I just wanted to look at him and be like "okay, you clearly don't realize how serious this shit is and trust me, it's not a fucking joke." But of course I didn't have the balls at the time.

Yeah I get it. I had a friend who after she cut herself once, she went around and showed everybody and said how depressed she was and complained, but then when somebody would suggest getting help or just asked her in general, she would acted all bashful and tell us to mind our own business. Or they purposefully dress in dark colours and dye their hair a "funky" colour, then tell people to piss off that they're emo, or depressed, or any BS really. I think it's horrible when they do it to be cool. Because it's not, it really really isn't.

For whatever reason, something happens that causes Rachel to stay in Lima. Years later she is married to Finn and raising their child. She feels trapped and unhappy, so when Kurt calls and mentions an empty role in his newest musical that would be perfect for her, she's finally had enough.
Finn comes home to his wife gone and a note on the fridge.
(Please don't have Rachel abandon her child, just a painful divorce that ends in shared custody.)
