Orphan Kurt adopted after years in foster care the_lynn42 June 30 2012, 14:33:33 UTC

Both of Kurt's parents died when he was 6 or 8 (cannon differs), and he was placed in foster care. Unfortunately that is older than most foster parents want, the mostly want babies or toddlers not depressed school aged kids. When you add in Kurt's rather effeminate behavior in homophobic Lima, it leads to Kurt being bounced around, maybe spending some time in facilities, until the bullying from the other kids there meant he was removed to homes with fewer kids. Finally Kurt winds up at a home where he is hospitalized when his foster dad sees him doing something "gay ( ... )

I'm really thinking about filling this, just one question, do you want Rachel older, younger, or the same age as Kurt?

I was thinking they would be around the same age, but the specifics beyond that are up to you. With them being close in age, it opens up more conflict, they would go to the same school, interact with the same peer group, etc.

In my head, they were both early high school, where the first season took off. This would give Kurt time to be truly damaged by his time in foster care, and keep Rachel where we know her. On the other hand, if a different age, and even a different age range works better for you, I'm sure it will be awesome.

I'm glad you replied so quickly! I had already started planning the story and your feedback made it so I didn't get too far so I can arrange things as needed. I really want this to be what you wanted! :)

I will be posting as soon as possible, but I am going on vacation for a week with my family so I will be home on the 18th! Hopefully I can post chapter 2 before we leave on the 11th.
