Kurt or Dave is diagnosed with a severe mental illness. Hence angst because they both have to adjust their lifes to the new situation and learn how to take care of the other. Take it where you want. Bonus points: - the disorder was discovered after someone pointed out to Kurt or Dave the change in his boyfriend's (husband's?) behaviour. Kurt/Dave feels guilty for not noticing it earlier.

Dave's known since he was a child not to point out the weird things he sees in the dark. In the very corners of his vision, where nobody else can see, there are... unusual things. Things that creep and crawl and curl along his vision, just out of reach, and he can't see them for his own field of vision. He always ignored it. It wasn't going to change how he lived his life. People stared at him weirdly when he pointed out something creeping along the floor, or a weird colour that just wasn't there. It was just little things. Things like a bouncing ball along the floor, or a duck floating in the middle of the pavement, even though there was nothing there according to other people. Dave didn't understand why they couldn't just open their eyes and see the world for how it really was. It frustrated him, and he lashed out when people called him a liar. He would push the other kids over if they said he was just making stuff up, and then they would cry and blame him

My name is David Karofsky. I am twenty five, two months and three weeks old today. It is my wedding anniversary. Kurt told me this, because he brought me some chocolate. They're my favourites. I remember some things now. I can think again. It's nice to be able to think. I think a lot about Kurt. I think I love him, and I can think about why too. He's very pretty, and very kind. He strokes my hand a lot, which feels nice. I think he loves me too, but he cries a lot when he thinks I can't see. I know because the nurses - the people in the white coats, who are trying to help, not to hurt - hand him tissues. He doesn't like to cry in front of me. I think he thinks it may upset me. I don't know why
