Kid!Kurt is abused by coach. Massive Amounts of Burt Guilt
anonymous

When Kurt was young (around 6-8) Burt forced him to participate in a sports team. He wasn't totally OK with Kurt being so feminine and he thought maybe this would butch Kurt up a bit.
In a strange way it worked. Kurt didn't play with his dolls as much and didn't talk excitedly about fashion. But, the thing is, he didn't play very much at all anymore and he didn't talk excitedly about anything.
Eventually it comes out that Kurt's coach has been abusing him. You can go one of two ways with this. Either his coach was sexually abusing him or his coach was a raging homophobe who was verbally and psychically abusing him for being girly.
Cue hurt!Kurt and massive amounts of guilt on Burt's part because he forced Kurt to join the team.
FILL 1/2 -- Trigger: child sexual abuse

Burt has always been proud of Kurt, of his beautiful and outgoing son, but he’s also always thought that boys should experience certain things in their childhoods. Things that all boys should do.
So Burt, without really thinking about his true intentions beyond what he thought would be good for his son, signed the six-year-old up for soccer over the summer holidays. It was only a kid’s league, but it was something that would hopefully get Kurt interested in sports.
There are only so many times that Burt could walk in on his son playing with dolls, or have to sit through fashion shows with his son modelling all sorts of outfits.
It wasn’t like Burt couldn’t stand the thought that his son was a little feminine. No, he would love his son no matter what.
But sometimes he just wanted Kurt to be a little more like other boys his age. Do the things that boys should do when they are children.
Where’s the harm in that?

Kurt is sitting on his bed, eyes gazing out the window with a look so lost, so forlorn, that it hits Burt in the chest like a bullet. This isn’t his son getting over playing with dolls and putting on fashion shows. This is something else

This fill was absolutely heartbreaking, anon. ;___; I think it was more powerful for it's lack of detail, if anything. You did a great job showing Burt noticing the changes in Kurt's behavior.
And I'm glad lj finally let me on long enough to leave you a comment! ♥

OP here
Your 'meager offerings' were enough for me. I would have liked longer but something about the shortness of it really made it resonate. And, I do understand the triggery-ness of such a subject. I'm just thrilled I got a fill, and such a poignant one at that. Not to say that I would oppose a squeal. ;)

Hiya! Just letting you know that I (finally!) have tagged this and I've ended up using your LJ as the author instead of anonymous. I'm figuring with you de-anoning in the comments you'll are fine to be tagged as de-anon?

I think I'm in the same boat. But I always forget to anon and it's okay here and on this other one I follow, but then I forget on a new one and like ten people will remind me to anon. I'm like "whut?". Some anon memes are so finicky.

The heartbreak, the HEARTBREAK! I started crying when said the first sentance about "tickling", then I bawled at the last sentence. My goodness. This was so thoroughly disheartening. Jeez. Your awesome for filling this.
