The scary thing is I'm fairly certain the writers meant it to be funny. I actually got nauseous. 'cause, you know, it's totally hilarious when a couple of kids develop drug addictions and eating disorders because their parents play favorites. *eyeroll* Nice one, RIB. /sarcasm

Their shock humour has always rubbed me the wrong way. Between Brittany and the 'roofies' comment and Puck's '...except Mr Ryerson', it just grosses me out. I know it's meant to be over the top, but bleh.
Oh well, the angst meme takes it all seriously.

I'm seriously starting to hate how this show is written. Yeah, it's fun and eccentric and has some really epic one-liners, but stuff like this isn't funny. It's sad and uncomfortable and has this really awkward habit of doing things that just wouldn't be tolerated in reality. Like the slushies. No school in America would let that happen, and Schue thought it was funny when he got 12 to the face. Or when that teacher threw a shoe at them. Sue stole public school money so Glee couldn't have it. The Gleeks routinely forgive and accept people who made their lives miserable (although granted that could just be a sign of personal growth and a PSA) and forget to get upset about it later. Just....Arg!

Sorry for ranting but this shit is pissing me off.

The moment that line came up I was like, "the angst meme is going to be all over that."

(I suggesting something with Sam -- like, perfect brother!Sam who's siblings seem mostly upbeat despite everything and picking favourites is cool!Jesse and his poor siblings ... hell, even Jesse warning Sam to keep an eye on Stacey and Stevie in one of his more humane moments would work.)
