I remember being about seven, in South Berwick, Maine, and sitting in adult church with my mom and dad. Pastor told a story about a kid who wasn't sure if he was saved, so he asked Jesus in again just to be sure. When we went home, I asked my mom if I ever got saved. She said I said the prayer of salvation when I was about two. I didn't think I'd been old enough at two to know what I was really praying, so I wanted to get saved "for real." My sister, Kathy, got saved the very next night, I believe. :-D

I used to love nursing home ministry. I used to go when I was a junior and senior in high school...to the one on Prospect Street in Lee, Massachusetts. I'll always have treasured memories of that place and the people I met there. I'm looking forward, especially, to meeting two sisters in particular: Grace and Alice. Alice died while I was still going there on visitation, and Grace remained positive through the whole thing. She knew, with absolute certainty, that Alice was in Heaven. :-)

Remembering God's work in our youth gleaning_grain February 10 2005, 08:08:55 UTC
Dear Lois,

Very nice things you've recalled to mind...and all of us having been a very foolish youth (generally speaking) isn't it neat to see God's mercy at work, and his tenderlovingkindnesses which are better than life? The funnything is, that those of us who are believers....though we "having not seen him, yet we love Him" as in 1 Peter 1: 9 ( i think), and even yet still, WE HAVE SEEN HIM! Isnt that how we became believers though? Havent we seen the specific glory of His specific heart, character & nature? Isnt this the One glory of the One true Lord Jesus Christ? Yes, their is none like Him, and neither could any one manufacture this chacter, and this power, love & authority of thought life & Word so precise, powerful & personal to us in every detail of life, and alive with the supernatural ressurection power of the living ressurected Christ! O.K. It's 3:30 am, AND i JUST NOW GOT IN FROM WORK...i BETTER GET SOME REST or else Im going to be a weirdo at school :)
God oves you all,
Dan

Yes, it is awesome, the work God has done in my life...and is still doing. People ask how we can believe in Someone we can't see. I tell them that I've seen evidence of His presence all around me and that I feel His presence when I need it most. What I can't understand is how anyone can not believe He is there...everywhere, for that matter. :-)

God bless,

Lois
