Lockdown (Day 8)

New prisoners appear in the entry cells, the cell doors are open. A spotlight appears over each of them. In the two entry cells, the prisoners lie on a small twin bed, the mattress hard and uncomfortable, the pillow not that much better. They are dressed in typical gray Glaxcin Prison uniforms; shirt and pants, all made of coarse cotton, with tiny ( Read more... )

Cell 2 R - Nana and Yayoi romancenovelist July 4 2009, 23:47:47 UTC
Yayoi gave Alucard a quick bow and a goodbye when she heard the robot voice telling them to go back to their cells. She didn't want to get in trouble.

Checking a computer for her cell assignment, just in case, she noted happily that she was still Nana's cellmate. Not so happily, they were in a new cell, which meant they wouldn't get to see their paintings tonight. Oh well, whoever Leland Joseph Adama and Kara Thrace were would be sure to be cheered up by them after lockdown!

Oh, and her new cell was upstairs! Yayoi hadn't been upstairs yet, though she was pretty sure it was mostly just like downstairs. Climbing the stairs confirmed her suspicion. It was still new, though, and that was pretty cool.

Even the raw potatoes sitting on the bed couldn't kill her mood, though she didn't think she'd be eating one.

Nana quickly hurried to her cell as usual; she'd never been late for lockdown yet and she didn't want to start now. She was really glad that Yayoi was still her cellmate since these things often did change.

"Yayoi!" she called out as she got into the room.

Yayoi looked up from where she'd been typing out the last of her matchmaking post for the network. She pushed her glasses up her nose with one finger and beamed.

"Nana, hi! We're cellmates again, isn't that great?"

Nana smiled. "It's great!"

She looked over sadly at the potato. They had tried, they really had. But no one seemed that into doing anything.

She looked back at Yayoi. "What are you doing?"

"I just put the finishing touches on the matchmaking message! I sent it out to the network, so I guess we'll see what people think."

"Really?" Nana quickly grabbed the other laptop and turned it on. She couldn't wait to see this!

Yayoi clicked around on the laptop to read some of the other people's entries. She was usually too busy talking to other people to get a look at what was going on around the prison.

"Yeah!" she said to Nana, "This will be great."

"I wonder what the guy I got paired up with will say about it. I don't think I've met him but he sounded really nice."

"I don't think he would be mean," she reassured Nana. "I mean, I haven't met him, but everyone I've met here has been really nice, even if they didn't seem like it at first."

Nana thought about that. "I've met a few people who didn't seem that nice though some of them pretended to be anyway. But most people have been nice and so I'm sure he will be too. And hopefully he'll be hot too."

Yayoi giggled. "I bet he is. He sounded like it, from his profile."

Nana laughed. "How can someone sound hot from their profile? Maybe he's hideously deformed."

"Ohh, like something from Beauty and the Beast! You need to see through his hideous exterior to the wonderful man inside! Well, I hope it's not that, but it would be horribly romantic."

Nana thought about that. It would be very romantic...but she'd rather he was good looking just from the start. She knew that made her a shallow person but it was the truth.

"And it depends on your standards of attractiveness, I guess! I mean, Himeno likes this guy who is all scowly and has a big blue ponytail."

"Blue?" Nana didn't have anything against long hair - in fact, she quite liked it - but blue seemed a little strange.
