Shortly inside the Absorption Gate, the group is separated, leaving Jade with Anise as his companion as they move to try and rejoin the group. The experience is amusing, to say the least, and eventually they rejoin the others near the bottom of the structure

At the gate to the Mt. Zaleho Sephiroth, they find Mohs, Ion, and Anise. Mohs threatens Anise's parents if she doesn't stop the group, and she reluctantly does. However she throws a note at Luke before shutting off the glyph, informing them they can enter the Sephiroth also from the mouth of the volcano

They also learn Luke can potentially neutralize the miasma with his hyperressonance. Opting to follow Asch first, Jade is questioned by Luke about the process, to which Jade refuses to talk about at first, and when Luke persists reveals why. It would kill Luke, or Asch because they're not strong enough to gather that many seventh fonons. Now, if they had an amplifier, such as the Key of Lorelei, it's possible, but it'd also require 10,000 seventh fonists, or potential ones for the required amount of seventh fonons necessary, resulting in their deaths. Furthermore; the backlash would kill the user, but with 10,000 sacrifices; the miasma can be removed from existence

While they lie to get Natalia to follow without a discussion, it turns out ironically that they've caught up with the Scorer, none other than a maskless Sync. Anise and the replica share a moment on their distaste for Mohs; it seems the God-Generals are just using him for their own ends. As it stands, it seems they've made a New Order of Lorelei, that is still pretending to read the Score for people. A bit more arguing and Sync reminds Anise cruelly that fighting with him means fighting with Ion, and he departs

Anise is pretty shaken up, but tries pushing forward despite it all, worrying about showing her pain to the others, something Jade comments on as being admirable in private as she runs ahead of the group. Moving to Yulia City, they convince Teodoro to attend the summit in Daath as he is the next likely candidate with the passing of Ion. Finally, they head to Baticul and settle a great many things with His Majesty
