Do you know how awesome this season has been? Every episode was full of mind-blowing, heart-rending exchanges, but the finale should have been called "I think we hit the wall and ran out of ideas ( Read more... )

"But that doesn't mean they had to halt the entire progress of everyone else's arc."

But that's how we worked with Jack and LOST and we all saw how completely satisfying and perfect it was. All you need is a white dude at the center of things, nothing else really matters.

GIANT.

TUMBLE.

WEED.

Haha, just kidding (sort of), I haven't seen any of Mad Men but know the storyline and enjoyed this finale break down!

(Was this last season? If so I hear the current season picks up.)

Mad Men's white-hero problem isn't as egregious as Lost's, mostly because the show has established from the beginning that it will spend more time on Don, rather than an setting up an ensemble show that has an unfortunate amount of time devoted to its uninteresting "hero."

And this is the breakdown of the most current season, which was really great, so this kinda made me make this face: :|

Sadly, that is a difference between Lost's writing and Mad Men's writing, at least for this episode. Sure, they might have pumped the breaks for everyone else, but that actually hasn't been the case for most of the season (and usually isn't the case). if a character gets benched, its usually only for an episode or two. I don't know if its an unfair comparison.

Haha, no I know, I was just making a joke with Jack because I still haven't let go. And you're absolutely right that Mad Men always had Don at the center rather than an ensemble show, siphoned down. (P.S. Haha, "hero.")

It's funny, I came back just to tell you I am talking to my fiance and he just was saying he watched the finale and his first thought was, "I guess that was supposed to be shocking." I was like EL OH EL, you are not alone in these feelings, boy!

Haha, yeah, I think it was an almost unanimous reaction, like "I can't believe he did that!" while the audience is basically just sitting there, all "......NO ONE CARES"

But uugh Jack. I haven't let go either.
