Seriously, it's insane. INSANE. Three and a half hours. Also, image heavy post. This time I'm remembering to make sure there's a cut and that it works, because yeah. I don't need to be an accidental douche again. ( INSANE )
This is wonderful! I also have a similarly long playlist. Makes me inspired to post it!
Great choices. Jacques Brel is wonderful. Do you listen to Scott Walker by any chance? He did a bunch of gorgeous Brel covers early in his career, but he's also a scarily brilliant songwriter in his own right. I recommend "Scott 4" and "Scott 2" (and, if you like really, really disturbing, avant-garde stuff, "The Drift").
It really DOES all come back to Depeche Mode, doesn't it. "Never Let Me Down Again" is kind of my ultimate Arthur & Cobb song.
Taking a bunch of this...need to take the necromancer song too, since I'm writing a novel where the main character is a military necromancer :)
Oooooh, I would like to see your similarly long playlist!
Okay, now I have to look for some Scott Walker, because I don't think I have anything of his, but I DO like disturbing avant-garde stuff! And I'll check out anyone's cover of anything by Jacques Brel as well, because yeah.
(dude, that IS the perfect Arthur-and-Cobb song...)
(here via eames-arthur comm) lovely, i like the thought you've put in to this, and I look forward to enjoying each mood that you've set. thanks for sharing.

I LOVE MIKA
I HAVE BOTH OF HIS ALBUMS AND KNOW ALL THE WORDS
Sorry. Had to say that. So few people know who he is where I live.
I haven't heard most of these songs. Downloaded a bunch to see what I like. :D

I hope you like at least some of the other stuff as well. (I have such weirdly diverse musical tastes, though...)
